HydrangeaSummer Storm
Roll of thunder comes closer.
Wind shrieks in branches,
batters hydrangea blossoms.
Deluge blurs distant shore
and beats heavily on roof.
Rabbits shelter under tree roots,
birds nestle in sturdy nests
and wait, like us, for
the tempest to cease.
